Earlier this week we drove to the highest point in Thailand. Up at the top of the mountain it was a cool 10 degrees C (50 degrees F) when we parked. By the time we left the sun was starting to set and the temperature was getting into the high 40s F. As I sit typing this it is a nice 78 degrees outside--going from 78 to 50 is quite a temperature change! It felt wonderful. Low on the mountain we stopped to see this beautiful waterfall. There were plenty of rocks to walk out into the water on and we were able to touch the water and even spots to put our feet in. The water was very cold.
On the way down the mountain we stopped near a camping area and ate at a food court. We decided to each order what we wanted instead of ordering family style--we ended up with too much food. Everything we ordered was delicious. I ordered green curry chicken and rice. I love spicy food and thought that the curry was not spicy (even though I had asked for it to be spicy). Chrissy does not like spicy food and found her curry to be very spicy even though she had asked for it to be not spicy. Spice levels are so subjective it's hard to guess what people will want. We did share some fried (un-breaded) mushrooms with sweet chili sauce. It was wonderful to sit in the food court and get to wear light jackets because of the chill in the air. Eva even left her gloves on!
